Alun is the Assistant Head for Learning and Teaching at Abbeywood First School.
Alun has over 20 years’ experience of embedding the use of technology within creative curriculums. Alongside constantly developing his own classroom practice, he enjoys sharing his expertise in supporting other teachers to achieve the highest possible outcomes for learners, through quality teaching and learning.
Alun leads on Primary Teacher Training for the Abbeywood Teaching School and RSA Teaching School Alliance.
Head of Church Hill Middle School
Cherie is the Interim Head of School at Church Hill Middle School. Cherie has expertise in English, particularly looking at Literacy across the curriculum and a wealth of expertise in leadership, focusing on learning and teaching and using data to drive change. Cherie is also passionate about the Key Stage Curriculum and is instrumental in its design to meet the needs of bringing the gap between KS2 and 4.
SLE in Mathematics
David is a SLE in mathematics with expertise in developing mathematics teaching, curriculum development, supporting non-specialist mathematics teachers and utilising data to drive KS2 and KS3 outcomes
Martin has been involved in Education since 1974. He taught in middle, primary and first schools before becoming a successful Headteacher in a Worcestershire School. He moved to Worcestershire Local Authority where he was appointed as a Primary Inspector for Worcestershire before becoming a School Improvement Adviser. Martin led Governor Services for Worcestershire for 6 years before operating as an independent Education Consultant specialising in governance. While working for the local authority he developed and led the external review of governance in a number of Worcestershire Schools.
Martin also worked as a lead facilitator on the Chairs Development Programme for Edge Hill University and led the five free governor training sessions developed by The National College.
Whist working with the Local Authority, Martin supported school leadership by conducting Annual Performance Reviews of schools and in supporting governors as an external adviser in Headteacher Performance Review. He is currently offering these through his consultancy.
Martin has just completed his 20th year as a governor. Until recently he was Vice Chair and is currently supporting the governing body as an Associate Member. He was part of a working group to establish a Multi Academy Trust and is currently a Trustee
Head of Abbeywood First School
Deena is Head of school at Abbeywood First School and is an SLE who has supported several schools within Worcestershire. She has had significant impact in raising standards in mathematics as well as driving innovative curriculum development to include the successful implementation of philosophy for children
David has had a 30-year career in Primary education which has included being a teacher and Head Teacher, as well as working as an Improvement Adviser for a local authority and now doing so in a freelance capacity.
David has had the privilege of working with more than 100 schools, with Head Teachers, Governors and school leaders in all aspects of School Improvement work. Alongside coaching and supporting school leaders, he has developed a collaborative and project-based approach to developing the quality of teaching, which has supported hundreds of teachers to refine and improve their day-to-day classroom practice. David provides bespoke professional development to schools in supporting the development of high quality teaching and learning and of effective leadership
Louise has taught in a wide range of schools and is an experienced mathematics subject leader with an MA in Education (Early Mathematics Intervention). She has trained as a Numbers Count teacher and holds BDA Approved Teacher Status (Dyscalculia). As an NCETM PD Accredited Lead, Louise delivers professional development opportunities and supports school improvement.
Sarah is the Deputy Head at Abbeywood First School and is SLE who has supported several schools within Worcestershire and beyond. As a primary specialist she has successfully led KS2, KS1 and the EYFS driving an innovative curriculum that raises attainment for all.
